Customer story · Hypermarket chain · Mobility in operations
Seven hypermarkets took their operations off the desk.
Stock-taking, transfers, receiving and returns used to be paper on the floor and a keyboard at a desk. Now they happen on MaximOps running on PDT handhelds, online or offline, with management watching on the Cloud Portal.

The work moved to where it happens.
Three roles, three screens, one stock record. Nothing is written down to be typed up later.

On the shop floor · MaximOps on PDT handhelds
Seven transactions that left paper.
Each row is a problem the Taj team put in writing, and what MaximOps on the handheld does about it today.

Every transaction names its device
Each handheld is registered with its own PDT ID per store. That ID, the user and the timestamp stay on every document, and one ID can never be assigned to two devices in a store.
The network drops. The floor does not.
Every MaximOps module works offline on the PDT. Documents queue on the device, sync on their own when connectivity returns, one failure never blocks the rest, and a retry never duplicates. Tills bill on the local database throughout.

Questions about this deployment
What does Taj Hypermarket run on mobile devices?
One app, MaximOps, on rugged PDT handhelds: stock-taking, transfers, receiving against POs, purchase orders, GRN, GRV, supplier and customer returns, order picking, price checks and label printing. Management reviews it on the Cloud Portal. Tills stay on Retail Desktop.
Does the mobile work depend on the internet?
No. Every MaximOps module works offline on the PDT. Offline work saves as drafts and uploads as real documents when the connection returns. Tills bill on the local database throughout.
Where is Taj Hypermarket, and how is tax handled?
The chain is in the Sultanate of Oman. Invoices carry 5% VAT in OMR with Arabic and English receipts; Kays International LLC in Muscat implements and supports the chain.
Can an Indian chain run the same set-up?
Yes. MaximOps (on phones or PDT handhelds), Cloud Portal and Retail Desktop are the same products, configured for GST with HSN on items and INR billing. See pricing for per-outlet tiers.
